Petite Messe Solennelle
Gioachino Rossini
Come and hear this uplifting work, written by Rossini for private performance at one of his renowned Paris musical Salons.
The Petite Messe Solennelle was Rossini’s last major composition, and his operatic melodies, colour and drama shine through to make this one of the most popular works in the choral repertoire.
As a special treat, we have four top-class vocal soloists, plus accompanists on piano and accordion.
Caroline Modiba, soprano
Rachel Gilmore, mezzo soprano
Joe Kennedy, baritone
Richard Hansen, tenor
Ben De Souza, accordion
Kevin Gill, piano
David Wynne, conductor.
